Canopied with oaks among running creeks, flowering vines and panoramas of the blue Pacific, the Ranch is among Californias most exclusive and historic hotel properties. From its origins in 1769 as a way station for Franciscan monks, to its days as a citrus ranch, and finally as a guest ranch in 1893, San Ysidro Ranch is a rich part of California's history. More than 113 years later, it remains a favorite retreat for discriminating travelers. Guests discover a romantic, private haven immersed in the pleasures of casual luxury, discreet pampering and exquisite natural beauty. Built in classic bungalow style, accommodations consist of free-standing cottages, junior suites, ranch rooms, 2-bedroom suites and Specialty Accommodations, many of which are newly restored. Restored accomodations feature fireplaces, flat screen televisions and radiant heated bathroom floors; spacious private decks with hot tubs and outdoor rain showers. Seventeen miles of hiking and walking trails wind through groves of towering Eucalyptus and alongside the San Ysidro Creek. Bicycling, sailing and horseback riding can also be arranged through Guest Services. Beaches and shopping are moments away and the Santa Ynez wine country is just 30 miles north. Tee times are available at the private Montecito Country Club, Sandpiper Golf Course or at other central coast courses. Spa services, including massage and facials, are enjoyed in the privacy of your cottage or deck. Yoga and other fitness services can also be arranged. The Ranch welcomes pets in freestanding cottages with a $100 per pet, per stay cleaning fee. We still have some restoration on-going on the lower portion of the property and we offer a complimentary continental breakfast basket which will be delivered each morning to your room.
